In line with our four directions, there are a number of ways you can get involved in the life of our community and begin growing in your relationship with God, yourself, and others.
SMALL GROUPS (“Greenhouses”)
In everyday life, a greenhouse is a glass shed that makes it possible to grow plants—sometimes quite exotic ones, even—by creating and sustaining an optimal environment for growth to happen in. This image of a place where the environment promotes growth is powerful, and one that connects with the biblical vision that Jesus teaches about growing in the key relationship of our lives, beginning with our relationship with God.
At Wentworth, our Small Groups are our greenhouses—places where we can meet in smaller numbers on a regular basis to worship, study scripture, apply its principles to our lives, and pray together. In John 15, Jesus talks about staying connected to Him in order to be able to grow into our full humanity. Our groups are places where disciples of Jesus and spiritual seekers can begin getting connected with Jesus and receiving the life He offers those who trust in him. Much like an actual greenhouse, our vision for our small groups is that they would be places where our growth in Christ would be cultivated, so that God would be glorified and the Gospel proclaimed, in word and deed, in all the relationships of our lives.
