Then Lenten season continues through April as we prepare to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour at mid-month. There are lots of ways for you to get involved and Know Christ, Grow in Christ, and Go with Christ at Wentworth in April!

Special Business Meeting

The month will begin with a special business meeting on Sunday, April 6th, after worship. In this brief meeting, we will be discussing a global mission opportunity we have been invited into alongside other area CBOQ churches and through our denominational missions agency, Canadian Baptist Ministries. For a detailed outline of what is being discussed at the meeting, including a proposed motion that will frame the discussion, please speak with Pastor Seán.

LENT

Study: "The Chosen" Watch party

Join us at the church building Friday morning at 10 am on April 4th and April 11th, as we focus our attention on the life of Christ dramatized in the series "The Chosen." The watch party will include a time of discussion after each episode, and by focusing on Christ we hope this time together will prepare our hearts to celebrate Easter. EASTER WEEKEND

Good Friday Service

Join us for our annual Good Friday service on Friday, April 18th at 10:30am. This family-friendly reflective service creates space to remember Christ's sacrifice for our sake. For more information, contact Pastor Seán or Jan.

Easter Sunday Breakfast Potluck

Join us early on Resurrection Sunday, April 20th, for a special breakfast potluck. Bring a dish to share and start Easter by fellowshipping with one another before we enter into worship later in the morning. Doors open at 8:30 am; food will be served until approximately 9:45am, at which time we will begin cleaning up and preparing for worship at the regular start time of ~10:15am.

Study: Understanding and Engaging Culture

We are continuing a special study that will help us better understand our culture and how it is shaping us—for good and for ill. The study will help us develop a biblical theology of culture and see the currents underlying many important topics of conversation and debate within our Canadian culture and beyond. Join us at the church building for the second session on April 24th at 7pm. For more information, contact Pastor Seán. 

Special Event: Canadian Baptist Symposium

Our denominatino's seminary, McMaster Divinity College, is hosting a special Canadian Baptist Symposium on Saturday, April 26th. This academic symposium will be discussing the past, present, and future of Baptists in Canada, and should be an informative and interesting day. If you would like to attend (whether in-person or online), registration can be found here.
