We believe in one God, the creator of all that exists, who is revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Genesis 1-2; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:9; Luke 24:49; John 14:23; 15:26; 17:5; Ephesians 2:18; Philippians 1:19; Hebrews 9:14; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 John 4:10-14)
We believe that God is the ruler over all history; from the very beginning of creation, through the story of redemption that climaxes in Jesus’ death and resurrection, to its conclusion in the final judgement.
(Genesis 1; Isaiah 46:10; Matthew 25:31-32; Luke 1:68; John 3:16; Ephesians 4:30; Hebrews 9:27; 2 Peter 3:7)
We believe that the Holy Scripture (the Bible) is “God-breathed,” fully trustworthy and our supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; Acts 1:16; Hebrews 4:12; Psalms 119:89; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 24:35)
We believe that all people have sinned and fallen short of God’s standard, and as a result, all are dead in their sins, separated from God, and subject to his wrath.
(Romans 3:23-24, 1:18; Galatians 3:22; Psalms 53:3; Proverbs 20:9; Isaiah 53:6, 64:6; John 1:8)
We believe that the only way to be set free from the guilt, penalty, power and pollution of sin is through the sacrificial death of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, and was crucified, died and was buried in our place, as our representative and substitute.
(1 Peter 2:24-25; Romans 3:23-24; 1 John 2:1-2, 3-5; Isaiah 53:12; Hebrews 9:28)
We believe that Jesus rose bodily from the dead on the third day, ascended to the right hand of God the Father and is alive today.
(Matthew 16:21; Acts 2:23-24, 3:15. 4:33, 10:39-40; Romans 4:25, 6:9, 10:9; 1 Corinthians 15:4: Ephesians 1:20; 1 Peter 1:3)
We believe that repentance, faith, love, and obedience are appropriate responses to God’s initiative of grace in Christ Jesus and that baptism is the first step in making that response.
(John 3:3–5; Acts 2:37–39; Romans 3:24; 5:1–2; 5:15; 8:9–10; James 1:18; Ephesians 2:8–9; Acts 15:11; Titus 2:11, 3:4–7)
We believe in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in bringing new life to the believer and in the continuing work of shaping believers to be more like Jesus.
(John 14:26; Romans 8:9-10; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 2 Timothy 1:7; 2 Corinthians 4:7-8; Ephesians 3:16, 20)
We believe there is one Holy Universal Church, the Body of Christ to which all true believers belong.
(1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Romans 12:5; Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:19-22)
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will return at the end of history to rule over a new creation of love and justice.
(1 Thessalonians 4:14-18; Mark 13:26-27; Matthew 24:27; 1 Peter 5:4; Luke 21:27; Acts 1:11; Hebrews 9:28)
